What's in My Pencil Pouch?

Last week I posted about my aqua Poppin pencil pouch (which I still love), and I got an e-mail from someone asking what exactly is in said pencil pouch. Because the semester is over now, I've actually emptied out my pencil pouch because I don't need it, but I can tell you what I was keeping in it- which is probably what I'll keep in it when the fall semester starts up in August.

So this is my lovely bag overflowing with all my wonderful study supplies. At a glance, you can see that I have a lot of pens, sticky notes, a white-out thing, and a flash drive. I could just end the post there, but I'm going to go into a little more detail about each item (well, each set of items).

Post-It Notes: I've mentioned my use of these before (several times, probably), but because I use them so frequently I've started keeping a bunch of them in my pencil pouch. I usually have four different sizes, but I ran out of the small, square-isa sized notes. Anyway, I use these for a variety of reasons: to jot down side notes on articles or in textbooks, to tag a page in a book. I tend to try to use brighter colors so that they stand out and grab my attention. I don't know why, but I'm not a huge fan of the plain yellow notes.

Bic Wite•Out Mini: I rarely write in pencil, but I almost always make a ton of mistakes when I'm writing. So it's become kind of necessary for me to have this with me all the time. I have a purple one as well, but I decided to keep the blue one in my pencil pouch because it's blue and so is my pouch.... *Shrugs*

Panda Bear Flash drive: I think it's a panda bear. Definitely cute enough to be a panda bear. I decided to add this to my pencil pouch because I've decided to start keeping my documents saved on the flash drive (as well as all the other online storage places) so that I always have a handful of copies of my work. I am absolutely terrified that I'm going to lose something so Lola the Panda is going to have a home in my pencil pouch.

I also keep a purple Sharpie highlighter and two Bic mechanical pencils in my case. Even though I don't typically write in pencil, I keep two of them on me at all times in case someone needs to borrow one or I have an exam. They're usually tucked away in the bottom of my pouch so they're not in my way when I got for my pens. I keep the Sharpie highlighter in my pouch for three reasons One, purple is my favorite color. Two, this highlighter works really well and it doesn't smear and it's not really dark. Three, I don't have a purple Midliner, so this is the substitute.

Zebra Midliners: I've posted about these before as well, and my opinion of them hasn't changed. These are wonderful, and I keep them in my pencil pouch because they're duel-sided highlighters and they don't smear or bleed through the pages of my notebooks. I had lost my pink one for almost the entirety of last semester, and I was extremely upset, but I found it about a week after the semester ended. So while I couldn't use it throughout the semester, I'll happily be able to use it in the spring.

Anyway. As I said before, this set of Midliners doesn't come with a purple highlighter so I use the Sharpie highlighter, but I really do love these. Once I have a little extra cash to play with I think I'm going to buy some more from Amazon because they come in a variety of colors and color scheme sets.

Staedtler ballpoint pens: I recently posted about these in the second segment of my Recent Haves & Wants so I won't go into too much detail about them. But for those who haven't read that post and who don't want to read a super extended explanation of why I love these pens so much, the general reasons are these: I'm obsessed with this brand. The barrel of the pen is slightly triangular which makes holding the pen super comfortable. And the ink matches the color of the barrel so there's no surprises and I get a variety of colors to choose from when I'm taking notes.

I do keep all ten of these pens in my pouch so I always have that variety of colors during classes where I color code my class notes.

Poppin ballpoint pens: Last but not least are my Poppin brand ballpoint pens. I also posted about these in the first installation of my Recent Haves & Wants so, again, I won't go into a whole lot of detail. I keep all six of these pens in my pouch - even though they all write in black in (save for the blue pen) - because I like the colors of the barrels. Sometimes I'm in a "pink mood" and want to write with a pen that is pink, but I don't want to ink to be pink. These pens are perfect for that and I never know what color mood I'm going to be in so I just keep them all with me.

And there you have it guys! That's everything that I keep in my pencil pouch. Or should I say everything I will be keeping in my pencil pouch once the fall semester starts. :)
